I submit the following remarks on the Report of the
Committee:-
Paragraph 2. The statement that "the first estimate did not include
the cost of the foundations" is incorrect. I assume that the first
estimate referred to is the one of $525,000 mentioned in the opening
sentence of paragraph 2. The estimate whion accompanied Messrs. Denison, Ram and Gibbs' design, submitted in competition, ran as follows:-

Paragraph 2. The further statement that "these modifications account for the estimate of the cost of the superstructure being increased by $44,200 to 8647,950′′ is also incorrect as may be seen from the follow- -ing comparison of the estimates furnished by Messrs. Denison, Rain and
Gibbs.
